Weeding

The nettle eater. Always stinging.

Eats to numb – chews to chapel other pains.
Fingertips forever tingling.

The gorse slobberer. Her mouth eclipse

– caudle cabbage green.

Miss thistle seeds with blown out milk teeth,

lost her burr virginity to a breeze.

The nuisance gulper – law-law-lawnmower.

A perennial voice, apologising.

The thorn grinder. Fringe trimmer.

Stunned lips promise and pestle her vows.
